It has been a while since we posted, so here is a bit of vid of Cory playing with Angel (a 5 year old long haired orange (technically "Red") tabby that showed up on our door when she was about 1y-old - May 2005). More of Angel's story - she came from a bad back ground, fearful of getting up on furniture (even for food [where food dishes were]), always checking to make sure there was food available (even interupting a petting/snuggle session to have a few kibbles - making sure bowl is still is full - then returning, and worse of allafraid of anything that was stick like - a broom, a mop, my cane - if we approached her with anything for any purpose - she would freak and run the other way. After years, she is getting better - but still, the fear is there. New cat (any animal on this point) owners should have to take a class and get a liscence that is revokeable and if the person falters on their promise to meet a certain standard of health and enrichment. I know, I know - just a dream ... but one needs to study and pass tests to drive a car ... same should happen for children *furry* or human. If a human child was scared of of a mop, broom, cane or anything like that because of abuse - parents would be investigated and child would be in safe environment. With animals, most abuse never gets seen or acted on. Hopping off of soap box now. Big news about Cory ... Check out www.prysmcat.org/foster/ !!! For those who remember Eva - we heard she is settling in great. Having a chance to meet the new "parents" alieviated a lot of stress and concern; we are sure she is in a wonderful environment with lots of enrichment opportunities with a loving family - furry and human. Congrats Eva, you beat the odds in every possible way and showed you are a fighter with lots of love. Stephanie (Prysmcat.org/foster) is a Veterinary Assistant student at St. Lawrence College (sl.on.ca/). The resources of teachers who are open to help and supportive fellow students who enjoy watching Cory's growth, makes this a learning experience for a few people. We are doing more than saving a life. Read more about his at Cory's Daily Blog: www.prysmcat.org/foster/ includes pics, videos and updates. *Thanks to our great friends at icanhascheezburger.com Check out http://lolcatburglar.com/cory and help if you ...
